... With a FIDE grade of !850, would I join the 1800 - 1900 band?
Or a higher band to reflect my aspirations?
Why does the sign up page show 2 plans per band? What's the difference between the 2 plans?
How do you know when to move up a band - is it when your actual FIDE rating rises to the next band - or is there some trigger in the Dojo scheme which flags that it's time to move.
I appreciate that I can join whichever band I chose - I'm just trying to appreciate how the scheme is intended to operate.
You ask: "With a FIDE grade of !850, would I join the 1800 - 1900 band?" --- You'd join the 1800-1900 band and once you cross 1900 you'd move up to the next band.
You ask "Why does the sign up page show 2 plans per band?" --- one plan is $15/mth and one is $100/yr. Kind of confusing to call it two plans per band since its really one plan per band and two ways of paying for any band
You ask "How do you know when to move up a band - is it when your actual FIDE rating rises to the next band" --- you move up when your actual rating moves up the band; that rating need not be FIDE rating though it can be your rating on lichess or chess.com or uscf after adjustment to calculate the FIDE rating equivalent of your non-FIDE rating using the rating calculation tool midway down this page (https://www.chessdojo.shop/training)
You ask " or is there some trigger in the Dojo scheme which flags that it's time to move." --- that would be pretty cool but not, you actually move yourself manually when you want to move and it is up to you when you are ready to move. In theory, you could stay in the lower band to finish the tasks there before moving yourself up to the next band. It is in your control.
